Who: Governor Mifflin School District and members of the greater Governor Mifflin community
What: Governor Mifflin will host its second annual Community Homecoming Celebration on Saturday, September 29. This year, the event will start with the Homecoming parade, which will step off at 9:30 a.m. After weaving through the streets of Shillington, the parade will end at Governor Mifflin High School, the location of a community tailgate party featuring more than 30 local businesses, organizations, and alumni groups. This year’s tailgate will also feature a Fire Safety Open House, presented by local fire departments, as well as free car seat safety checks by Safe Kids Berks County. The tailgate party will wrap up in time for the Homecoming football game at Governor Mifflin Stadium. The Mustangs will host the Twin Valley Raiders for a 1:00 kick off.
The Governor Mifflin Community Homecoming Celebration is an initiative through the Governor Mifflin Office of Communications and Community Relations. Local businesses and organizations are invited to participate, free of charge, in an effort to showcase the Governor Mifflin community and increase engagement across community stakeholders.
