Central Penn staff member earns Women of Influence honor

SUMMERDALE – Rubina Azizdin received a Women of Influence award from the Central Penn Business Journal on Monday, June 18, at the Hilton Harrisburg. She serves as an associate director of career services at Central Penn College.

Azizdin is one of 30 business leaders to be recognized for their community service and career accomplishments. She founded the female-focused R.E.A.L. Networking Group, which stands for relationships, empowerment, authenticity and laughter.

“I am proud to represent minority women professionals and for being an example to our younger Muslim generation,” said Azizdin. “As women we have come a long way, but there is still much more work to do. Recognition, such as this, is an indication to me that I am headed in the right direction and am in the right community!”

This is her third award in 2018. Her previous honors include:

  • The Torch of Golden Enlightenment award by the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg
  • The Woman of Excellence award from YWCA Greater Harrisburg

“What a year it’s been so far! Some days, it feels like a dream, but I’m happy and grateful that all the hard work is paying off,” says Azizdin, who has been employed at Central Penn College since 2013.

Earlier this month, she appeared on CBS 21’s “Women at Work.” In addition, Susquehanna Style magazine andCentral Penn Business Journal have featured stories on her in the last year.
