Fagan and Jennings Open Women’s Track & Field Season in Pentathlon at Bison Opener

LEWISBURG, Pa. – McKenzie Fagan won the high jump of the pentathlon Friday night to highlight the Kutztown University women’s track & field team’s season-opening day at the Bison Opener, hosted by Bucknell University.

Fagan was 1-of-2 Golden Bears to compete in the women’s pentathlon Friday night, as the bulk of the 2017 Bison Opener will commence on Saturday.

Fagan stands in eighth place through four events with 2901 points. She won the high jump at 5-4.25, her first conference-qualifying mark of the season. She also finished fifth in the shot put at 27-10.75 and sixth in the 800m at 2:37.50.

Freshman Niyah Jennings opened her KU career in the multi Friday night. She stands in 13th place with

2167 points, highlighted by an eighth-place run in the 60m hurdles in 10.13 seconds.

Action resumes for the second-half of the pentathlon on Saturday, Dec. 2, beginning at 8 a.m.
