The Golden Bears (3-1 overall, 1-1 PSAC) fell four spots this week, coming in at sixth in last week’s poll.
KU dropped its conference opener at California (Pa.) University 89-87 on Saturday, Nov. 18, but bounced back the following day to defeat Slippery Rock University 86-72.
Senior guard Ethan Ridgeway led the team in scoring both games, tallying a career-high 40 points
against the Vulcans, and then 30 points against the Rock. He played 75 of a total of 80 minutes over the course of the two games.
Ridgeway is averaging 24.3 points per game (ppg), second in the PSAC. His 8.0 assists per game is tops in the league.
Redshirt-junior Anthony Lee and junior Dan Cuevas each scored in double-figures both games. Lee had 13 points on Saturday and 25 on Sunday, and Cuevas scored 10 Saturday and 12 Sunday.
Cuevas (13-for-13), Ridgeway (25-for-26) and Lee (11-for-12) are all shooting 91.7% or better from the free-throw line, and rank in the top-eight in the conference.
Lee is first in the PSAC at 4.0 steals per game.
Redshirt-freshman Moe Williams is averaging 9.0 ppg and 8.8 rebounds per game through the first four games of his career.
The Maroon and Gold are averaging 99.0 ppg, which is good for second in the PSAC behind East Stroudsburg University (2-0, 2-0) who is averaging 106.0 ppg.
Wheeling Jesuit comes in at the top spot, followed by Virginia State and West Liberty tied for second. Fairmont State is fourth, followed by six PSAC teams rounding out the top-10.
Shippensburg fell from first to fifth, followed by Edinboro, East Stroudsburg, West Chester, Indiana (Pa.) and Kutztown respectively.
Mercyhurst is receiving votes to enter the poll.
Kutztown next takes the court on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. against Philadelphia University. The game will be played at Jefferson University.
