Blandon resident graduates from James Madison University

James Madison University is pleased to announce the following local student graduated during the Dec. 15, 2018, commencement exercises.

Sean Eric Gisler of Blandon graduated with a degree in accounting.

Gisler was among more than 820 students who received undergraduate, master’s, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.

Devon Merritt of Reading member of 2017-18 JMU women’s basketball team

Devon Merritt of ReadingĀ is a member of the 2017-18 James Madison varsity women’s basketball team.

Merritt is a sophomore forward at JMU, enrolled in the biology program.

JMU is coming off a 26-9 season, Head Coach Sean O’Regan’s first at the helm. The Dukes advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association title game for a fourth straight year before making it to the third round of the WNIT, taking down Radford and Virginia at home.

JMU begins the season on Nov. 10 at home against Rutgers, the first of 29 regular-season contests for the Dukes in 2017-18.

JMU Athletics sponsors an 18-sport intercollegiate athletics program that competes within the Colonial Athletic Association at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
