Victoria Conover named to president’s list at Bob Jones University

Victoria Conover, a senior/middle school education major from Reading, was among approximately 550 Bob Jones University students named to the fall 2018 president’s list. The president’s list recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

Students named to dean’s list at Bob Jones University

Bob Jones University named approximately 900 students to the dean’s list for high academic achievement during the fall 2018 semester.

  • Allyson Carl, a senior fashion design major from Reading, was named to the fall 2018 dean’s list.
  • Hannah Gillen, a freshman undeclared (arts & science) major from Birdsboro, was named to the fall 2018 dean’s list.
  • Joshua Norton, a freshman nursing major from Bethel, was named to the fall 2018 dean’s list.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.0-3.74 grade point average for the semester.

Seasholtz of Douglassville named to The University of Rhode Island dean’s list

The University of Rhode Island announced that more than 5,500 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2018 dean’s list; among them was Maureen Seasholtz of Douglassville.

The students included on the dean’s list represent nearly all of Rhode Island’s cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and nations; students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average. The list includes students who have not yet declared their majors as well as those from all of the University’s undergraduate academic colleges.

Sonja Kiefer is a recent graduate of Grove City College

Sonja Kiefer of Sinking Spring is one of 39 seniors to earn their degree from Grove City College Dec. 18, 2018. Kiefer earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies and French.

Rebecca Radcliff of Reading named to Mansfield University fall 2018 president’s list

Rebecca Radcliff of Reading was named to the fall 2018 president’s list at Mansfield University.

To be named to the president’s list, a student must attend the university full-time and attain at least a 4.0 QPA for the semester.

Two named to fall 2018 dean’s list at Mansfield University

A total of 339 students have been named to the Mansfield University Dean’s List for the spring 2018 semester. Among them were the following local students:

Students named to dean’s list at Grove City College

The following students were names to the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester at Grove City College:

  • Hannah Spatz, a junior English major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean’s List with Distinction for the Fall 2018 semester. Hannah is a 2016 graduate of West Mont Christian Academy and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Spatz (Kelly) from Oley.
  • Naomi Shrom-Kuc, a sophomore PreK-8 Special Education major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2018 semester. Naomi is a 2017 graduate of The Kings Academy and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Shrom (Geraldine) from Shartlesville.
  • Sonja Kiefer, a senior Communication Studies major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction for the Fall 2018 semester. Sonja is a 2015 graduate of Wilson High School and is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Keith Kiefer (Laura) from Sinking Spring.
  • Julia Kate Brackbill, a junior History major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean’s List with High Distinction for the Fall 2018 semester. Julia Kate is a 2016 graduate of Wyomissing Area High School and is the daughter of Dr. and Dr. Robert Brackbill Jr. (Elizabeth) from Wyomissing.

Students eligible for the dean’s list have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the dean’s list with distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the dean’s list with high distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Abby Barton of Douglassville named to Harding University dean’s list

Abby Barton, a junior nursing major from Douglassville, is among more than 1,200 Harding University students included on the dean’s list for grades achieved during the fall 2018 semester.

The dean’s list is published each semester by Dr. Marty Spears, University provost, honoring those who have achieved high scholarship. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.

Gavin Camlin named to dean’s list at Becker College

Gavin Camlin, of Leesport, has been named to the dean’s list at Becker College for the fall semester. Camlin is pursuing a BA in Interactive media design, computer game design concentration.

The dean’s list recognizes all full-time students (24 or more credit hours earned for the academic year; 12 minimum each semester – September through May) whose term grade point average is 3.50 or higher with no grade below a B- and no incomplete (I) or withdrawal/failing (WF) grades.

Gisler Graduates from JMU during December commencement

James Madison University graduated more than 930 members of the campus community.

Commencement ceremonies took place in December 2018. Among them was Sean Gisler of Blandon who earned a degree in accounting.

Bucknell Students named to dean’s list

Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year. Among those honored were the following local students:

Megan Conley Murphy of Leesport, a mechanical engineering major, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester at Clarkson University. Dean’s List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.
