KUTZTOWN – Kutztown University junior pitcher Gavilan Fogarty-Harnish and his summer league baseball team, the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League, are playing in a decisive game three of a best-of-three series in the Summer Collegiate World Series Aug. 17 at Wade Stadium in Duluth, Minn.
Fogarty-Harnish, who has made five relief appearances, is 1-0 with nine strikeouts in 12 innings pitched for the Huskies.
After falling in game one, Duluth bounced back to defeat Fond du Lac 8-1 in Game Two to force the deciding game three. The victory was Duluth’s first ever in the SCWS. The Huskies have a 50-26 overall record.
Fogarty-Harnish was voted to the All-PSAC East Second Team last season after pitching a total of 28.1 innings, going 5-2 in 15 appearances, both starting and in relief. He also picked up five saves, which ranks eighth in school history for a single-season.
