Julianna Whalen of Shillington, a strategic communications-public relations major in the Susquehanna University class of 2020, attended the 2017 National Conference of the Public Relations Student Society of America in Philadelphia earlier this year.
PRSSA is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. Its members gain public relations knowledge through professional development opportunities. The organization helps students with networking, hands-on experience, finding an internship and completing university practicum requirements. PRSSA is made up of more than 10,000 students and advisers organized into more than 300 chapters across the United States.
The annual national conference gives students the chance to connect with their fellow peers and mentors while developing professional skills through motivating sessions and distinguished speakers.
Whalen is a 2015 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School; she is the daughter of Michael Whalen and Shari Whalen.
