KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University men’s basketball senior Ethan Ridgeway combined to score 70 points in two games last weekend, and in doing so, was named the week two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Men’s Basketball Co-Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the league office.
Ridgeway tallied a career-high 40 points in an 89-87 defeat at California (Pa.) on Saturday, Nov. 18. He was the third KU player in program history to score 40 points in a game. Ridgeway followed that up with a 30-point, nine-assist performance in an 86-72 victory at Slippery Rock the next day, Sunday, Nov. 19. He played 75 of a total of 80 minutes over the course of the two games.
Ridgeway is averaging 24.3 points per game (2nd in the PSAC) and eight assists per game (1st in the PSAC).
The West Chester, Pa. native holds the school-record for assists in a game (16), assists in a season (260) and assists in a career (497). He has 899 career points and is 101 shy of becoming the 26th player in program history to record 1,000 points.
Ridgeway is tied for ninth in program history with 281 career free-throws. He has made 21-of-21 from the charity-stripe the last two games.
It is the second league honor for Ridgeway, who was voted the PSAC East Athlete of the Week in Feb. of last season.
